"Our" island, on the left in the middle our villa. On the right we swam everyday twice a day with the fishes... (For me very scary, I got a thing with fishes swimming with me at the same time at the same place, especially ray fish.)

Our bathroom was big. 1 shower in the inside, 2 sinks, 1 outdoor shower (on this picture) and looots of room. We could have held a party in it!

Toni Poni going snorkling and later on diving. I of course didn't do neither of these, even if someone had paid me!! I had enough trouble swimming AND kicking (and I know how to kick!!) at the same time the fish away. Luckily I didn't touch the 2 ray fishes, because that could have been fatal...

It was low season, so we saw some darker sky also... that didn't stop us from swimming though, it was still hottyy! ;o) A surfer on the beach...


We also experienced some heavy rain...


...and some beautiful sunsets. <3

Fruits were cut in front of you. As was prepared in front of you also some food (barbeque food, waffles, omelettes, etc...)


Giant black-spotted stingrays and some other fish were fed every night at 21.30. (These must be the parents of the rays that swam with us...)

I gambled for the first time in my life! (Crab race)


I named my (helmet) crab Toni. And you know guys: I won all the races and the finale also!!!!!!!!!!


In a little storm (hih, not scary at all, only "bumpy"), in this kind of boat (dhoni, locals used those for everything)...


...we went to our air taxi, because it was low tide and the sea was quite rough, so it would have been too risky to use the jetty.


In the plane back to Bangalore after arriving safely at the airport of Maldives... Our trip was fantastic, highly recommending these paradise islands!

Family visiting

We got some visitors a few weeks ago, just on time for Mother's Day. :oD

The first thing to do was to have some fresh mangos at our balcony! (Mom specially scheduled the trip for mango season...)


And then to have some sightseeing. Vidhana Soudha, the seat of the state legislature of Karnataka (our state).

One day we visited Bangalore Palace, which used to be the home of the kings. Nowadays it's just a museum.

Shopping at Commercial Street, one of the biggest and busiest shopping streets in Bangalore. Here you can really feel (sadly this picture doesn't show it so well) the chaotic intensity of Indian shopping culture.

Mom had 2 special occasions during her visit here. In addition to Mother's Day, she had also her birthday before returning back home. We surprised her by buying some flowers...


and a MANGO cake of course!! :oP The joke is that the numbers are reversed... ;o)


The last night before their went back home, we went to a local restaurant where you eat from banana leaves...


with your fingers. That's a real Indian experience and we all did well!! (We had to, because there weren't any cutlery around...)
